Nice composition. However you should tell your subject to brush his teeth lol. You can try post-processing your shots through photoshop and editing the curves to give this photo more punchy contrast. Try it and see if it's better.

Btw, I suggest you resize the height of vertically oriented photos to about 500 pixels so that you wouldn't have to scroll to actually view the image :) I feel it takes away the mood.
