Coyote II - Death Valley, California - 2007Posted by Craig (Vacaville, California, United States) on 13 February 2007 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio. This old coyote pays no attention to the photographer as his concentration is fixed on breakfast (a Kangaroo Rat).

William from Sacramento, United StatesWild coyote at 72mm. How did you do that? Very nice! 13 Feb 2007 5:11am Herbert from Meerkerk, NetherlandsGreat capture...my only chance to get a coyote was with an injured one. Well done! Remarkable! 13 Feb 2007 8:33am Bronnie from Christchurch, New ZealandYum yum... and that's just what the coyote is saying about breakfast! Me? I'm thinking the same about the photo. How on earth did you get that close?! 13 Feb 2007 9:25am Jen from Jessup, United Stateswow! how in the world did you get that close? Wonderful capture! 13 Feb 2007 11:47am M.E. from Encino, United Statesthis is wild! you were close at 72 mm! love the sharp imagery and colors. 13 Feb 2007 12:47pm Shiva from Kajang, MalaysiaPerhaps he was waiting for the coyote to arrive ? Cool shoot Craiger. animals are a hard capture if one is not patient... 13 Feb 2007 1:09pm Stu from Kyoto, JapanA great capture Craiger. You're so lucky to have seen this. You seem to have a knack of getting close to dangerous animals and photographing them really well (I'm thinking of the Thai Croc from a couple of weeks ago). Nicely done, mate. 13 Feb 2007 1:29pm Jerry from Tampa, United StatesThat's awful close Craiger - he could be fooling you and make you breakfast! Outstanding capture! 13 Feb 2007 1:30pm Addey Kehinde from London, United KingdomVery sharp shot, but dude, how close did you get?!? 13 Feb 2007 2:41pm Anne from White Rock, CanadaIts a beautiful shot Craiger and just the right time and place for wonderful lighting. We get them around here when the pickings are slim in the close by woods and forestry, and people have to really watch their small dogs. I was almost in tears one day when I saw one walking up the main street with a small poodle in its mouth. They are beautiful though and I guess they have to eat. 13 Feb 2007 2:57pm Duncan Galbraith from kyoto, Japanbrilliant! it almost beggars belief that you managed to get that close in. hats off man! 13 Feb 2007 4:15pm C. Benjamin from San Francisco, United StatesI usually only eat kangaroo rats for dinner! nice one. 13 Feb 2007 6:21pm Damon Schreiber from Toronto, CanadaExcellent. Great work capturing the backlit glow around him. 17 Feb 2007 6:36pm Helen from Melbourne, AustraliaI've been busy and missed this one ... incredible. I got a charge out of this photo, so I can only begin to imagine how you must have felt after locking this one away. Congrats Craiger, I am really enjoying this series. 18 Feb 2007 9:23am |
