Just outside Death Valley National Park is the ghost town of Rhyolite. What is a trip to a ghost town without visiting the graveyard? This iron fence still couldn't protect the blank headstone from years of weather.
Technical note: Solarization filter used.

Fantastic grainy image.

Great image, conveying emptiness and death and also 'stillness'--really like the black and white work.

Love the contrast and the sepia again. Simple but powerful.

Technical question... what the heck is a solraization filter? :) Sounds like a PP thing, or is it a camera filter. As you can see, I'm not afraid to show my ignorance.
BTW, nice shot!

@MontereyJohn: Hi John! Thanks for your comments. The solorization filter I'm refering to is a Photoshop Plug-in (Nic Color Efx Pro 2.0). I've been having a blast with it ever since Craig Persel told me about it. Note: you can download a demo of this program to see if you like it before you buy it.
Nice shot. Someone who died on the frontier. The solarization filter worked really well.

Good stuff !

I like both the perspective and the solarization - the mix of the two seems to give it a look that is ominous and confrontational.
