Just for reference, if a car was sitting on the top of one of those peaks in the center of this photo it would be so small you would have a hard time seeing it.

@M.E.: This one was pretty easy. Just pulled over to the side of the road, zoomed out, and snapped! Thanks for all your comments M.E. I enjoy following your photoblog as well!
The colors and texture...phenomenal.

@badala: A most gracious thank you badala!
Death Valley certainly has intriguing geological features. The coloring, shapes, and shadows of your photo are amazing, though for some reason I'm getting thirsty just looking at it!

@purelysnow: I did spend some time dodging the shadows on this one. You know, I love Aminus3. I feel it has made me a better photographer. But, for all its strengths, it still can't show our images in a very hi-resolution. I feel this photo, in particular, is viewed so much better in hi - res. Still, I understand the technical restraints of showing all these images in hi-res.
I do enjoy your work and China as well!
Death Valley is an amazing place. It's a long time since I've been there. Your pictures brings back memories. I love your series.

The light is a little harsh. BUt, the colors are very interesting earth tones.

loving this series dude, my mind is screaming "ROADTRIP!!!!!"

@C. Benjamin: Obviously, I had a great trip to Death Valley. I took over 269 photos and only made it to 1/10 of the park! I could spend a month photographing this place but I might have to find a different family to put up with me! :0)
P.S. Your bluebird shot today was increadable!
AMAZING! The perspective, it boggles. I thought it was a cool geological close up of igneous schmigneous at first. Excellent work.

@Sylvia: Hahaha! Good one! And thank you so much for the complement!
Another great shot from your trip.

@Angry Buddha: Thanks Sean!
Another fabulous shot! Thanks for the info about the size! It would be difficult to know how big it was without a reference in the shot, such as people or trees somewhere, but as the name suggests, it looks barren of any kind of life.

@Anne: The geology was increadable as was the wildlife I found! It's a funny thing that I found more wildlife in Death Valley than in Yosemite National Park!
Outstanding. Phenomenal shot. What can I say, Love it.
