Just as a point of reference, the vertical (curved) line going down the center portion of the photo is a hiking trail. If you follow it to the bottom of the photograph, it ends in a dry riverbed. At the very end of the trail (or start) you can see a sign that is about waist high on the far left and very bottom of the photo. Hope this helps!

Another awesome image. Just out of curiousity, what makes the dark hilltop so dark? Different minerals? vegetation? thanks for the scale, it's really hard to tell just how big this area is!

@Bronnie: I'm sorry Bronnie. I really don't know for sure what makes some hills dark and others light. I assumed it was different mineral deposits but I'm not certain.
Impressive shot! Really dry landscape.

The photos of the rock formations are something else - really well done. The rock strata is very clear. The signpost helps - but it looks like a pretty stiff hike from this end upwards - those rock formations are humongous!! :-)

Very interesting photograph. Really I'm affected by this. It has the texture of human skin. A very effective photo.

Fascinating landscape. I like the softness of the image too - it contradicts the subject matter and makes a unique image.
