@Art Monkey: Thank you Art Monkey. I always do some post processing. In this case, I just adjusted levels and did a little burning and dodging. I also cropped a lot of the background out. I did try to shoot them in ways where they could be easily isolated from the background. :0)

I love giraffes! This one looks very wise. This whole series is simply amazing. They defintely feel more "African safari" than "day at the zoo."

Agree with those above... your choice of how to handle the backgrounds for these shots was very good, and the lighting combined with the dark behind is very striking.
