Sylvia Van Nooten from Milano, ItalyWonderful! I flashed on "baby Harley" at the Ice Cream Parlor rather than Big Hogs at the Bar. Created this instant image in my mind. 16 Apr 2007 6:13am shotzz.eu from Warsaw, Polandvery nice view, but I don't like PS blur, I prefer real lens blur 16 Apr 2007 7:47am Scene by Sharon Photography from Kingston, Ontario, Canadavery nice shot - I agree with Sylvia, and her "Harley" image - nice work! 16 Apr 2007 10:17am Yvon from Meerkerk, NetherlandsI love theis shot. Great bike! Personally I'm not a fan of the blurry effect. 16 Apr 2007 11:40am @Yvon: To me, blur is like a 6th visual element. When used effectively (not that I did here) it can help define the subject. PS offers more control than I had imagined when using this gradient blur technique. This was my first time using this. Perhaps I'll get better with future experimentations. :0) P.S. Thanks for all your comments (they are so important to me)!!!! Jen from Jessup, United StatesWonderful shot Craig...I like the blur, he really makes the Big Wheel stand out! 16 Apr 2007 2:02pm Beckie from New Hope, United StatesIt is good! When you view something live, the background is always in a blur and I've never notice how much of a blur there is. Nicely done. 16 Apr 2007 4:46pm Rahul from Kuala Lumpur, MalaysiaThis is cool Craig, love the PS effects and contrast of the foreground subject. Kinda cute shot. :) 16 Apr 2007 5:21pm Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomGood go at the PP in photoshop, you tackled it well. 16 Apr 2007 7:10pm amy from Rocky Mountain House, CanadaI really like this one Craiger! The nostalgic feel is great... especially the big wheel. But I wonder what it would be like in b/w with strong contrasts? ;-) 16 Apr 2007 8:32pm William from Sacramento, United StatesNice...a blur filter? Have not been to this ice cream place, maybe I'll have to try it out. 16 Apr 2007 11:54pm @William: Yes, a couple layers with varying levels of blur and masks above them to reveal the layers below. The masks have a b & w gradient applied to them such that the blur is revealed gradually. It is hard to explain but the idea is that the blur becomes stronger the further away it gets. In this photo the blur is strongest in the upper right corner. Yea, try Vic's. They are famous for their hot dog sandwich, milk shakes, and ice cream! Cuentos from SpainI like this one; it is sweet, to me. Thanks. 27 Aug 2008 1:42am |
