Anne from White Rock, CanadaBeautiful portrait Craig: you don't get lighting like that with a top of the camera flash gun. Its very softly lit with the main source of lighting on one half of the face - so much nicer than the bang, flash pops one sees with flat lighting. :) 21 Apr 2007 8:01am @Anne: I know. I don't care for flash photography myself, unless done in a studio or bounced effectively. This shot is using natural light from a nearby window. Thanks very much for your comment! Scene by Sharon Photography from Kingston, Ontario, CanadaCaptivating - very nicely done! 21 Apr 2007 10:25am Jen from Jessup, United StatesBeautiful portrait and the flash is so soft and perfect on her face! Very nice! 21 Apr 2007 1:09pm @Jen: Thanks Jen! Believe it or not, I shot this in a restaurant. The light is coming in from a window. :0) Gnarf from Stockholm, SwedenShe look very calm and natural and the light is not too bright. Good portrait! 21 Apr 2007 9:04pm Bahar from Toronto, CanadaGreat portrait! The lighting is awesome..it's like her face is fading away in the dark. 21 Apr 2007 9:45pm Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomDecent lighting and nice framing, her expression is excellent 22 Apr 2007 12:35am amy from Rocky Mountain House, CanadaPerfect portrait! The melding of hair into background is excellent. Did she pose specifically? I ask because her expression doesn't seem "posed"... she's also very photogenic. 22 Apr 2007 1:05am @amy: She is a "natural". basfalcon from wales, United Kingdomhey Craiger--this is a prize-winning portrait--ticks all the boxes--basfalcon 23 Apr 2007 10:10pm ginger from Melbourne, AustraliaI haven't been on the blog for a few days .. just spent time looking at your images.. the abstract series - phenomenal! This portrait is a delight.. as usual you infuse your images with emotion.. always thought provoking. 26 Apr 2007 9:08pm Helen from Melbourne, AustraliaGorgous portrait Craig. You have once again spotted the perfect time to capture a subject when the light is at its optimum. What really sets this portrait off for me is the contrast between her white shirt and her soft lit face. 27 Apr 2007 3:54pm |
