Ohwow! this is amazing! Like Manuela, the basic shot would have been stunning, but I love the overlay - what is it? Let me in on your secrets!!!

@Jerry: Hi Jerry! Thanks for your comment. There is not enough time or room to go over the details of how this image is created. But, the following explanation will give direction:
1. The organic symetery was influenced by Daniel Giordan's works (details in "The Art of Photoshop.") 2. The stark contrast of the organic symetery was influenced by Still of Sill Mood here on AM3. 3. The Orb was influence by Janee of www.myjanee.com . She was the instructor at an online Photoshop class I took. See her tutorial for making a raindrop at her website. 4. Levitating the Orb above the desert floor was influenced by Jerry N. Ulsman's works 5. Proportion of mountain to frame was influenced by Ansel Adam's works. 6. Spacial elements influenced by a class I took at Chabot Collage in Design and Materials by Mr. Studly.
You see, I steal from everyone!......quote by Woody Guthrie Hope this helps!!!
agree with all the comments made above - what is the shot in the overlay?
30 Apr 2007 6:15am
@Scene by Sharon Photography: The organic symetry in the Orb is from a shot I took of a small tree in the parking lot of a local strip mall.
The background is from a shot I took last winter in Death Valley.
Thanks for all your comments Sharon!!!

Evidence of life on Mars? Whatever the scientific explanation, there are exquisite skills at play here and we're all better for having seen them. Outstanding!
