pieter from Davis, California, United Stateslike he is stepping into the light. nice image:) 23 May 2007 2:29pm Kheoh Yee Wei from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysiawould have been even better in B&W,i think can express more of the atmosphere, moment, feeling and all that :D 23 May 2007 3:01pm @Kheoh Yee Wei: Ya know, if I would have posted this in B&W, I would have gotten comments saying it would have looked better in color (see yesterday's post). "Atmosphere, moment, feeling and all that" are all very subjective measures. Maybe you can express why it would look better in B&W in terms of the visual elements and the unifiers??? I do appreciate constructive critisism; but, I'm not at all sure you are correct. @Sean Bailey: Mike is the guy ready to step out into the light. We think the two dogs might be aliens! :0) Rahul from Kuala Lumpur, MalaysiaNice shot Criag, i guess you should try and desaturate this one, the perspective is just cool. :) 23 May 2007 4:48pm adalove from Alcala de Guadaira, Spainlovely scene... looks so quite and peaceful :) 23 May 2007 5:26pm Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomI like how the contrast between the shadow and light feel in this shot today. With 'Mike' about to leave the shadow of the trees and emerge into brightness, nice one. 23 May 2007 7:22pm Beckie from New Hope, United StatesHi Mike! I like the casual atmosphere of this shot. Oh yea, the dog.... 23 May 2007 8:37pm bronzebilly u.k. from cardiff, United Kingdomhey Craiger--great natural image--keep it in colour--keep it real--billy 23 May 2007 11:34pm amy from Rocky Mountain House, CanadaOk Craig.... this is how I see it; in colour it does have a natural/casual carefee feel to it... a great walk, a feeling of serenity. In b/w it would have a feel of coldness and more so of the unknown. Shrug.. it's what you want to convey. With the absolute subjective nature of photography who the hell knows. I quite like the feel of this shot... it's not spectacular to your usual standards but it's still a great shot on the merit of what I think you're portraying. Did I go too far? Hope not... as I do love what you do... 24 May 2007 1:19am @amy: Thanks Amy...no you didn't go too far. Good point about the subjective nature of photography. :0) I'm just of the belief that photography is more objective then subjective. But then I guess that is why there are so many books on the subject.... @William: He is just taking the dogs on a walk. |
