Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaIn distress and still so, so beautiful...wonderfully captured Craiger :) 5 Nov 2007 10:45am badala from Leiria, PortugalFabulous shot. The composition, light, texture and color all work together. 5 Nov 2007 11:03am Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesI really like the tired look of wilt that you've captured here. Reminds me of old age and the loss of energy everything experiences through the aging process -- but look, inside that same wilted sunflower are the seeds of the next generation. This is a very hopeful shot. 5 Nov 2007 12:28pm MontereyJohn from Salinas, California, United StatesGeeze, Craiger, that is awesome! studio shot or in the field? The reason I ask is that the light is so cool. Well done. 5 Nov 2007 1:12pm @MontereyJohn: This shot was taken in my backyard. Thanks for all your comments John! ManuelaR from Hainburg, GermanyAbsolute amazing brown tones & textures. Still a beauty till the end... 5 Nov 2007 1:19pm Michael Rawluk from CanadaI love shots of tired old things (I should do a self-portrait). 5 Nov 2007 4:24pm Steve from Camdenton, United StatesWonderful brown color you've captured against the dark background. 5 Nov 2007 4:50pm Betsy Barron : www.thebetsy.com from Glenmoore, United Statesunreal crispness here.. what IS your secret?? 5 Nov 2007 5:03pm @Betsy Barron : www.thebetsy.com: Adjust levels. Burn and dodge. Thanks for all your comments Betsy! M.E. from Encino, United Statesbravo! at the risk of repeating everyone's comment - this is a very well composed, taken picture - the lighting is just right, the DOF is awesome, the tones are warm and the texture crisp! 5 Nov 2007 5:08pm Reza from Montreal, CanadaBeautiful shot! I like the texture, highlight and shadows here. 5 Nov 2007 5:23pm amy from Rocky Mountain House, CanadaYou can even make dead flowers look good!! Fab light on this one Craig!! 5 Nov 2007 6:10pm Rebecca from Leicester, United KingdomExtraordinarily exquisite, and moving. You have an amazing eye, Craiger! 5 Nov 2007 11:15pm Bender Bending Rodriguez from Cooper's Crossing, AustraliaNice stuff going on here, C. The aging floral contingent gets rare air time these days but I think there's a lot (of positive stuff) to be said about the older girls. In fact, with a background as creole as this, its features are exaggerated to the point of her appearing like a voluptuous old tart with plenty of flexibility amidst the droop. Nice show, old chap. :) 6 Nov 2007 3:23am |
