Michael Rawluk from Prince George, CanadaCraig, you seem to find interesting shots everywhere. I really like the light and shadows sweeping across the frame. 21 Dec 2007 5:58am Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaTotally fabulous and again very original, I love what you're doing with the 'fallen' Great work Craiger :) 21 Dec 2007 11:01am Helen from Melbourne, AustraliaAnother nice one Craig ..... although .... I really like the bottom half ... I am not sure I like the top third. I think the composition is stronger in the bottom third. Have you tried a crop? 21 Dec 2007 11:21am @Helen: Hi Helen. Thanks for your constructive criticism! I'm not sure I agree with you because without the top third of the photograph I would not have achieved the same sense of space nor would I have been able to get the same rhythm going with the leaf shapes. The photo is pretty much as I intended it. It captures what I "saw" that morning. Don't get me wrong. I don't think it is the worlds greatest photo. It was more of a practice shot with my new camera (early Christmas Present). I do know what you mean about the way photos display in a portrait presentation. It is a bit disturbing when you have to scroll down to view the entire photo. I'm not sure if changing your screen resolution would help or not. Also, doing a "View/Full Screen" helps. In the case above, you should be able to see the entire photo on the screen. Thanks for all your comments Helen! Ken McCoy from Orlando-Daytona Beach, FL, United StatesA needle is like a leaf that went on a diet :) Another cool shot of the mundane! 21 Dec 2007 2:10pm Shutterbug from Chennai, IndiaI like ur composition. very interesting. To have cut it off with the bottom would have been, in my opinion, quite ordinary. This way, its way better a pic! 21 Dec 2007 3:33pm Wolfgang Prigge from Granby, Québec, CanadaI like the play of light and shadow, the textures and the colors. You made an interesting photo where most people would have walked by without a second thought... 21 Dec 2007 9:00pm Rebecca from Leicester, United KingdomThere’s such a lovely and amazing sense of wistfulness that comes across through this image. I love every aspect of this piece. 24 Dec 2007 12:10am |
