Note: This is a composite image of two previous posts. A quite a few people wanted to know how I did yesterday's shot. If you send me a request (so I have your email address) through my "Contact" form below, I'll try to put the details together and email it back to you by the end of the week. I sure appreciate everyones comments!

Great image - I will be asking you for "lessons" on how you did it. One problem with the image may be the part of the moon that is lit up - if the sun is over the horizon shouldn't the bottom part of the moon be illuminated (and not the top)? Sorry to pick on a beautiful image - the scientist in me.....

@Chris: It probably would have been more appealing to you if I would have titled it, "Binary Star Activity." So as to appeal to the scientist in you. :0) Then everything would have made sense.
mmmfantastic combo!

This is a great capture Craiger. So the stats on the sony say 6mm, that must be some type of fixed lens? Anyway, it takes nice time exposures. Congrats.
15 Jan 2008 11:24am
@Oswegan: The sky and cloud image was taken with my Sony H5 last summer. It has a 12 x fixed zoom lens that goes from 6 mm to 78mm. In 35mm terms, the 6 mm translates to about 35mm (wide angle). The shot of the moon was taken with my new Sony H9 which has a 15 X fixed zoom lens. But, I added a 1.7 X tele-converter to it giving me an effective 790mm lens (in 35mm terms). Thanks for all your comments Oswegan!!!
Alright, cut that out! You are making me feel totally imept :)
Really good image.
