Morning Light II

I made two exposures of the same scene for this shot. One exposure for the highlight detail in the flowers and another exposure for the shadow detail in the background. I combined them in Photoshop on different layers and masked the top layer.

I love the depth and richness of that colour with that touch of blur!! Really gorgeous, Craig! I wonder if you'd done the blur mask on the background copy if there wouldn't have been such a noticable line above the flowers?

@amy: Maybe a larger brush with a softer tip or a completely different method of selecting the mask area would yield different results. Probably the only thing that would have made it better would have been if I spent more time on it. But, I didn't consider that these wild flowers were good enough in their own right to justify the additional time. The line you speak of is more noticeable on CRTs calibrated to the light side.
