Adiemus from Christchurch, New Zealand...to buy a fat pig! 10 Jun 2008 5:54am MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomHe looks a shy little donkey, and heavily laden too. A great shot Craig. 10 Jun 2008 8:38am Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaPoor Donkey, let him walk without all that he has to bear, I hate seeing that, on the other hand my photographic eye absolutely adores this compo ! 10 Jun 2008 9:32am Helen from Melbourne, AustraliaAh ... now this photo has spiked my interest! I didn't know you'd been to China! Well, well. I also do not recall seeing too many donkeys. Off googling to find out where it is. Hope to see more of these? 10 Jun 2008 10:04am @Helen: In this shot I was traveling from Inner Mongolia to Yinchuan, Ningxia Provence. The street here was very busy and crowded. I cropped and cloned the people out of this shot as they were distracting the eye from my subject. But, I still missed the two people in the window in the background. I was quite a sight as I demanded my driver stop so I could photograph this scene. I was probably one of just a few Caucasians they had ever seen. Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesThis is a priceless moment, and you got this great photo. Darn! All I got was a t-shirt... 10 Jun 2008 11:31am Michael Skorulski from Cigel, SlovakiaUnusual and interesting. I like the dusty gray. 10 Jun 2008 11:40am Death from Mashhad, Iranthe shot is have a great quality and light! 10 Jun 2008 11:48am MJ from Delaware, United Statesgreat shot... I hope I get some good pict when I go to China this year.... 10 Jun 2008 11:52am @MJ: Hi MJ! I hope you have a chance to get way outside Beijing or Shanghai to experience the people and culture of China. Thanks for your comments! e. from New York, NY, United StatesBeautiful. Because of your title choice, the animal looks rather tired. 10 Jun 2008 12:02pm @e.: Yes, I agree with you that the donkey looks tired. I hate the way the Chinese treat animals. But, I hate the way we treat animals just as much. If you have the chance rent the movie "King Corn". Thanks for your comment e.! Cheryl from Texas, United Stateswhat a cool shot! poor donkey is overworked! cool shadow of the wheel 10 Jun 2008 1:03pm yiannis krikis from thessaloniki, Greecenice image - I had years to see a donkey (even in photo) 10 Jun 2008 3:25pm Chris from South Jersey, United StatesVery nice shot - the donkey is wonderful and the background of the street great as well. I can't believe you cloned out some people - I really can't tell where anyone would have been standing. My only suggestion would be to have a bit more on the left side of the frame - the crop looks a little close to the cart. 10 Jun 2008 4:12pm @Chris: If you look just above the horse's back end you'll see a pair of glass double doors with a green curtain behind them. There was a guy standing in front of the door. I recreated the door from parts of the door that were visible (hope that makes sense). The reason I cropped so close to the cart was I tried to crop out anther person that was standing in the background. Thanks for your comments Chris! Observing from Chester, United KingdomSuperb photo with great POV. I think it's a shame for the donkey though. This scene shows the underdeveloped side of China. 10 Jun 2008 7:55pm danthro from Suburbia, United Statessweet shot. great frame. find myself feeling sorry for the donkey somehow, though i wish i could claim to be as hardworking 10 Jun 2008 8:25pm standley from brou-sur-chantereine, FranceGreat capture. The poor animal looks exhausted! 10 Jun 2008 9:28pm @standley: I am afraid he has had a horrible life! :0( Michael Rawluk from Prince George, CanadaA wonderful shot. Very nicely put together and it is a glimpse into another cuilture. 10 Jun 2008 9:47pm Oeilonirique from FranceAlways treated as an idiot animal, and maybe therefore always these sad eyes. 11 Jun 2008 4:39am |
