Aren't we lucky to have such a beautiful moon! 23 Aug 2008 12:01pm @Michael Skorulski: You bet we are lucky! I've wanted (and tried) to photograph that moon like this since I was in High School (a long long time ago)! You have a definite "knack" for these moon shots, Craig. 23 Aug 2008 2:33pm @Viewfinder: Thanks VF!!! Denis from MartiniqueAmazing details... of something which is common but that we are not used to stare at in such a way ! Great picture ! 23 Aug 2008 9:25pm Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomAn amazingly clear image, a 1500mm lens....wow thats some piece of kit you got, ultra sharp. 23 Aug 2008 10:12pm @Richard_Irwin: Hey Richard! I appreciate the complement. Just so that you know, the lens itself is a very reasonably priced Sony fixed 500mm lens. However, in 35mm terms, the lens translates to a 750mm lens. I used the 2X electronic tele converter bringing the effective focal length up to 1500mm. I'm thinking of purchasing Sony's 2X optical tele converter as well to bring the effective focal length of my system up to 3000mm. But, I digress. Now I'm getting a bit ahead of myself. In post processing I did sharpen the image slightly as well. Thanks for all your comments Richard! Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomSensational....! thats a first rate image. 23 Aug 2008 11:38pm Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainWonderful shot, the blue moon makes dream.
