This is a great farm shot. 23 Sep 2008 12:11pm willow from Chelsea, United StatesThat's a big scary looking machine! Kind of sad to think of it chomping on the sunflowers. 23 Sep 2008 12:39pm Wolfgang - vu@granby from Granby, Québec, CanadaInterersting photo. I'm puzzeled by the cleaneliness of the tracks, as if somebody just cleaned them on the field... 23 Sep 2008 12:40pm @Wolfgang - vu@granby: Since the last stage of the sunflower cycle is to let the sunflowers dry in the sun, the field is very dry and not muddy. Hence, no dirt sticks to the farm equipment. That is my guess anyhow. Thanks for all your comments gilles. MJ from Delaware, United Statesthats a big machine for something so pretty......i like how you took it with the barren field behind it 23 Sep 2008 2:08pm MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomWhat a wonderful series Craig. The machine has made for an interesting image with it's vivid coloure. I particularly like the steel blades tinged with blue. They make a fine contrast with the red. 23 Sep 2008 4:42pm Chris from South Jersey, United Statescool tools - I really love farm machinery and you captured this well - the shiny tracks and bright orange really go well together - nicely done.... 23 Sep 2008 6:43pm Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomVery powerful looking machine, great stuff. 23 Sep 2008 10:57pm baobab from Cambridge, United Statescheerful colour for a machine that is a harbinger of the end... 23 Sep 2008 11:45pm Michael Rawluk from Williams Lake, BC, CanadaA terrific shot of a very powerful machine. It is amazing how cleansing dirt can be. 24 Sep 2008 12:11am dogilicious from Millerstown, PA, United StatesNice series, interested to know how this particular piece of equipment works. Not many sunflower farms in the east. 24 Sep 2008 1:04am @dogilicious: About all I could tell you is that it was parked next to the sunflower field and a row of sunflowers about the width of those blades was missing. Thanks for all your comments dogilicious! One from Açores, PortugalSuperb image, wonderful color and definition.
